We are looking for an aggressive, successful person with an Internet sales/marketing background to help build up commercial advertising for our automotive web site.

The site was launched by an established professional automotive journalist and web design staff approximately two years ago; traffic is now in the 40,000 per month range and all our "stats" (Google Adsense, Alexa.com, Quantcast) show extremely positive growth. The site has several hundred registered members posting in its Forum area as well.

However, we have not been able to translate our growth in traffic/page views/membership into significant advertising revenue. High-end Senior Writer (santa cruz)

From concept to design to execution, this very seasoned and highly experienced Senior Writer will be responsible for a series of specific projects related to the company’s marketing and corporate communications.

Over a 90-day contract period, with potential for ongoing engagement, the Senior Writer will work closely with senior leadership to revise and/or create the following deliverables:

* Rewrite the majority of the copy on the company’s three websites
* Rewrite approximately eight product / company collateral pieces from marketing document library
* Write two corporate newsletters consisting of approximately four brief articles each
* Rewrite company’s boilerplate proposal responses (RFP response library)
* Perform other writing services as identified
* Advise on visual / graphic design and layout enhancements to support the above projects; the copywriting is the key deliverable, but the copy must be supported by the overall design of the deliverables, so the Senior Writer will advise the company’s marketing department in this area to help ensure the cohesion of the final work product.

COMPENSATION, FORMAT AND TIMING

$7,500 to $12,000 per month (based on experience) independent contractor

Position is a 90-day contract estimated at 40 hours per week, with opportunity for ongoing freelance work or full time employment. Telecommuting is okay, but you will need to visit our office in Santa Cruz at least one day per week for meetings. This position will report to the company’s Program Manager and work very closely with the CEO and other senior leadership.

Work starts November 3, 2008 with on-site interviews in Santa Cruz being conducted the week of October 27, 2008.

QUALIFICATIONS

The only requirement is that you have 7+ years related experience in creating compelling business and marketing copy, and the portfolio to prove it.
