Author and Subject Matter Expert (anywhere)

An Austin-based consumer education company is looking for a proven author/SME to write a course on improving the efficiency of an IT infrastructure.

Applicants must be experienced in clearly communicating complex technical concepts to IT decision makers in small and medium-size businesses (500 – 999 employees). Applicants should be able to explain how servers/storage, technical services, and ISV partnerships can help businesses optimize IT infrastructures to improve efficiency of IT services. Educate decision makers on applicable solutions that address key business challenges in the areas of IT continuity, efficiency, and security.

Concepts to address include:
o Explain major/common exposure areas for midsized businesses – what are the most common gaps leading to sub-optimized IT efficiency?
o Explain how to identify efficiency gaps within a small or medium-size business and then take action to improve energy efficiency and continuity. Use management tools to efficiently implement virtualization, manage the infrastructure, optimize employee workloads, increase automation, and improve data security.
o Explain high level methodology for assessing business risks.
o Provide high level description of enabling technology solutions that address known as well as identify unknown risk areas.

Requirements:
o Provide resume and references, as well as a writing sample in the same target area of this piece.
o Work within established formats and writing standards.
o Be able to understand and use custom Word templates.
o Have excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
o Meet established deadlines.
