Description
In this position, you will work part to full time depending on the project requirements at our client’s site in Hillsboro, Ore., supporting a range of documentation needs, including writing, revising, and editing highly technical documents. Working closely with software engineers and other project stakeholders, you will revise existing and create new copy, including online help and software product documentation (user guides, reference manuals, etc.). Creation of product documentation will involve interviewing subject matter experts; analyzing and interpreting data; determining appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage; and ensuring adherence to legal guidelines.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, technical communication, or another technical science. (Experience or background in technology may be substituted for degree.)
• Excellent English writing, editing, and speaking skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat, and RoboHelp authoring tools
• Aptitude for quickly learning complex technical material and creating relevant, concise written content
• Experience working with and interviewing subject matter experts
Also Helpful
• Prior experience as a software technical writer, such as creating software user guides and reference manuals
• Experience creating engineering specifications and end-user information
• Familiarity with database publishing tools and processes such as CMS, DITA, and XML
• Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
