Senior Technical Writer¡Video Networking Products
RGB Networks needs an experienced and professional Senior Technical Writer to develop documentation for Hardware/Software components of RGB products on a contract basis. The product in particular is a service provider ( Cable/Telco) market oriented product and used for aggregating video and supporting related applications.
This documentation delivery is print-oriented as well as delivered online through Acrobat, and is authored with tools that include Word, context-sensitive HTML, and Visio. The deliverables includes configuration and installation guides for RGB products, technical notes, release notes, and related documentation.
This opportunity emphasizes the ability to clearly convey sophisticated video and networking concepts to a Cable and Telecommunication customer audience, and to provide detailed and thorough system descriptions.
Position Responsibilities:
Write, edit, organize, format, and deliver finished documentation components such as user's guides, best-practices guides, technical notes, and release notes. Write, edit, organize, format, and deliver finished work such as user's guides, best-practices guides, technical notes, and release notes.
Coordinate and collaborate with engineering development, marketing, professional services, and related groups through the product-lifecycle process to collect information, meet requirements, and assist in product development.
Professionally and consistently self-edit own work and assist in editing the work of other staff, contractors, or interns, when necessary.
Required Experience:
5+ years building and improving networking and telecommunications hardware and software documentation for administrative, installation, and deployment tasks and products.
Experience with networking, video applications, best usage and use-case scenarios, and software issues.
Demonstrated ability to communicate abstract or advanced concepts very clearly to any audience level required by a product.
Proficient at authoring with Word, FrameMaker, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator
Desired Experience:
Track record with networking products and issues.
Successful track record in growing, very fast-paced technical environments.
