Vintage Tech Blogger

Seeking an enthusiastic CONTRIBUTING WRITER

RetroThing.com is an established and growing vintage technology blog. We’re looking for a freelance writer with a genuine love of quirky and clever classic technology. Initially, you will be expected to write a minimum of 5 posts per week (between 250-500 words each).

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Your posts should be a mixture of entertainment and technical information that will intrigue and interest geeks and casual readers alike. The content should be a mix of daily events (important anniversaries, new retrostyle products, events), retrospectives (clever write-ups about iconic/strange/memorable/clever devices from the past), and feature articles that cover a broader topic.

MONEY, FAME & GLORY:
You will be paid between $15 and $75 per published post. Your compensation will be based on experience and the depth and type of content you write. We reward excellence through bonuses for exceptional writing that attracts readers.

Ideally, you will move on to a longer-term contract after successfully completing a three month trial period. Your responsibilities and compensation would be renegotiated at that point, but we promise never to ask you to make coffee or take out the trash.

MUST HAVES:
• Creative and playful mastery of the English language.
• A love of classic and modern technology and a willingness to share your enthusiasm with the world.
• The ability to set and meet deadlines independently. You must be able and willing to produce regular content.
• Blogging experience. Familiarity with writing for the web and an idea of what works well in the online world is essential.
• Experience with one or more blogging platforms.
• Decent digital image manipulation skills.
