Product information writer

Do you love gadgets and electronics? Are you a computer whiz who all your friends come to for advice? Are you a home theater enthusiast? ProductWiki is looking for writers!

ProductWiki is the number 1 startup in Waterloo region. Our philosophy is that product information should be easy to understand and unbiased, and most importantly free. You can think of us as a cross between Wikipedia and Consumer Reports.

Job Summary

We're looking for enthusiastic people to write. You'll be writing about consumer electronics, and will learn a lot about writing, working in a self-directed environment and improved organizational skills.

* Work between 25 and 40 hours per week (you set your own hours)
* Work from home
* Learn valuable writing skills
* You must have access to a computer and high-speed Internet
* Self-starter and ability to work independently

If you are interested in applying, please fill out the following questions.
1) Have a look around ProductWiki (www.productwiki.com). What do you like about the site? What do you dislike?
2) Name the top 3 product categories you're interested in
3) We'd like to see 1 product report example from you.

For the product report example, here are the criteria we're looking for:
1. Pick any product you're interested in from 1 of the 3 categories you listed
2. Write a 1 paragraph product summary from a 3rd person Neutral Point of View (~75-150 words)
3. Write a list of the most essential features/specifications (5-15 points)
4. Include price & release date (month and year is sufficient)

All responses should be done through email. We'll use your response as a gauge for your writing style.
