Fiction Editor for Electronic Publisher - Part time

Loose Id, LLC is a profitable Internet-based publisher looking to expand our team of talented professionals. We publish erotic romance, releasing a minimum of four titles each week. If you have experience editing fiction, are creatively inclined, possess excellent computer skills, appreciate erotic romance and the people who read it, have access to a Windows PC and a rock-solid Internet connection, are responsible and reliable, and are looking for a part-time job you can do from home, read on.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Content Editor is responsible for helping authors hone their stories to perfection. This involves:

* reviewing submissions from your assigned authors.
* recommending acceptances and rejections.
* writing and sending rejection letters (we don't use form letters for rejections).
* working with each author to hone accepted manuscripts. This includes suggesting refinements to the plot, motivation, and character development, as well as ensuring that books meet our editorial guidelines.
* reviewing submissions from new authors (the slush pile) on a rotating basis.
* passing completed manuscripts to appropriate staff for copy editing and formatting.
* communicating issues to the Editor in Chief and company owners when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS
DO NOT APPLY unless you meet ALL of the following requirements:

* Minimum of one year experience editing fiction. Critiqing as a non-professional editor is NOT sufficient experience for this position.
* Able to meet deadlines without fail. If you've ever made an excuse for missing a deadline, this is not the job for you.
* Respect for the genre of romantic erotica, and for the customers who read it.
* A reliable Internet connection.
* Your own PC.
* Willing to check e-mail at least twice a day to see if issues need your attention.
* Demonstrable knowledge of how electronic publishing works.
* Be prepared to send references who can attest to your skills.

This job pays a per-word rate, with bonuses when titles you edit meet different sales levels. You will start as a Junior Editor with an opportunity for advancement.
