Great-Opportunity with well established local distributor seeking an experienced Buyer / Merchandise and Inventory Manager to work from home.
You will work closely with our established suppliers’ network, source new and replacement products negotiate vendor pricing and terms.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES;
You will maintain our System-Website for item data including cube, weight, case count, pallet count, lead-time, unit-of-measure, alternate vendors, product information, and pricing.
You will create and maintain purchase orders, including following-up on past due purchase orders, canceling obsolete purchase orders, and updating purchase orders for quantity, price or delivery changes.
You will source products through all applicable means, negotiate vendor pricing and terms.
YOUR SKILLS
1. Ability and willingness to strive for continuous improvement in our processes.
2. Ability to build strong partnering relationships with vendors.
A team player with a positive can-do attitude.
3. • Function and carry on your responsibilities with a sense of urgency.
Preference will be given to applicants as follows;
o Currently working from home *(applicants working Full-Time do not need to apply to this listing).
o Minimum of 3 years experience in Purchasing and merchandising with computerized inventory control and those with strong internet-research capabilities.
o BS in business or related fields a plus.
IMPORTANT; the first 30 days there will be a mandatory on-site-training and trial period (11:30 – 3:30) Mondays and Tuesdays in our Bethesda location.
After you have successfully completed the training and trial period your work will be done from your own location as described herein.
