Circulation Director, Annals of Improbable Research (Boston/Cambridge)

There's a recession on, have you heard? Everyone's looking for a part-time job (we heard that on NPR). This one might be yours!

The Job: Circulation director for the Annals of Improbable Research, a small science-humor magazine based in Cambridge. $20/hour, approximately five or so hours/week.

You: Live in Cambridge/Boston area (this is non-negotiable, though most work can be done from home). Intermediate proficiency in SQL, enough to work in an existing database and troubleshoot as necessary. Detail-oriented and patient with repetitive tasks. Also patient with subscribers who are having difficulties with their subscriptions. Perhaps you are a stay-at-home parent, a retiree, or just someone whose money isn't going as far as it used to. Willing to make a long-term commitment; we're a small organization and try to minimize turnover.

Us: A terrific group of eccentrics dedicated to making people laugh, then making them think. If you like us, you might even find you want to get involved in more areas of the organization--from the Annals to the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony and beyond! Or you might just want to process the subscriptions in peace and get on with your normal life. It's really up to you.

Send resume and cover letter/e-mail to the e-mail address above.
