Description: We are a successful media and events company expanding our existing content offerings. We're already a leader in the space, but we want to cover new topics and add more depth and breadth to our existing work.
Freelancers will contribute to a tech blog focusing on the virtual goods industry, covering everything from microtransactions in MMOGs and virtual worlds to digital gifts on social networks to downloadable content in triple-A video games. Experience in any of these fields would certainly be helpful, but a writing, editing, and reporting background is more important. Those chosen will be responsible for 1-2 posts per day, with the potential to write more as we expand, working under a managing editor for a network of sites.
Candidates should have a 4-year degree, preferably in a related field; 1-5 years in writing/editing/reporting for either print or online sources; strong writing and editing skills; and experience in or eagerness to learn about virtual goods; basic Web production skills.
About The Company: Virtual Worlds Management is the leading provider of business trade events and media for the emerging virtual worlds and 3D web industry. Virtual Worlds Management provides comprehensive media and events including Engage! Expo Conference (March 10-11, 2009 in New York), Virtual Worlds Expo (September 3-4, 2008 in Los Angeles) and Virtual Worlds London (October 20-21, 2008). The company also publishes the Virtual Worlds Weekly email newsletter and the daily VirtualWorldsNews.com blog. More information about Virtual Worlds Management can be found at http://www.VirtualWorldsManagement.com.
