ABOUT THE ANDEAN COLLECTION
The Andean Collection was founded to provide artisans in the Andean region of Peru and Ecuador with fair access to the global market, and to bring the highest quality artisan jewelry and accessories from South America to individuals, stores and distributors in the United States and Europe. As a fair trade company, The Andean Collection purchases products directly from artisans at prices that allow them to earn a sustainable income above the poverty line. We also reinvest a portion of the profits into small-scale development projects in the artisans’ communities.
Artisans in this region often must sell to intermediaries, as they lack access to local markets. This results in an exploitative system where the middlemen profit and the artisans struggle to survive. The Andean Collection provides a unique opportunity for consumers in the US and Europe to buy directly from Andean artisans, eliminating the need for multiple intermediaries.
* Location: Massachusetts
* Compensation: currently volunteer, although travel opportunities and commission from sales are available
* Telecommuting is ok.
* This is a part-time job.
