The Sr. Web Developer will spend 20 – 30 hours per week working from home to develop web applications for our clients. Our typical development is in a Linux environment using PHP and My SQL. To be successful, the candidate will have a keen understanding of utility, functionality with solid web design, and UI fundamentals. The individual will also have experience creating well-organized design documents and prototypes that can be presented to our clients to ensure the development direction is consistent with their requirements.
Job Requirements:
o 3 – 5 years of development experience in Linux
o 3 – 5 years of development experience in PHP and MySQL
o 3 – 5 years HTML development experience
o 2 – 5 years experience with front end languages, JavaScript, AJAX, etc
o 2 – 3 years experience with subversion
o Experience with ImageMagic
o Experience with cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation
o Experience with optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed)
o Experience with Search Engine Optimization
o Good written and oral communication skills
o Strong analytical, and problem solving skills
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
o A strong desire to contribute to a positive work environment and create success for our clients
We are developing a company that provides online sales strategy and representation for mid-market manufacturing firms. While many manufacturers know how to sell and represent themselves through the traditional retail market, few have any experience in managing their online brand. The focus of this role is to help develop websites and online tools that help these manufacturers represent and sell their products.
