DZone, a local (Cary, NC) online technology publishing company for software developers, architects and designers is looking for a freelance copywriter to edit all content for our series of DZone Refcardz, cheat sheets for developers (www.refcardz.com).
Refcardz are a series of free cheatsheets for developers, written by book authors and industry experts on a wide range of technical topics. They are released weekly and since May 2008, we have released 40 titles for developers to download for free. Compact and concise, these 6-8 page cheatsheets distill highly technical topics into a comprehensive set of shortcuts, diagrams, source code examples and best practices -- an ideal format for those just starting out with a new technology as well as advanced users looking to brush up on their skills.
Main Responsibilities & Requirements:
-Must be a good communicator and a team player
-Work directly with the production team to edit all Refcardz content
-Each refcard is roughly 8-14 pages (first draft from author, final copy is 6-8 pages)
-Experience in Technical writing prefer
-Must be able to meet deadlines
