Federal Funding Researcher
Fast-paced, newer Chicago-area company is seeking a qualified individual to assist rural and under-funded local governmental agencies, health care providers, schools and other entities to obtain federal funding for the company's essential IT networking and telecommunications services.
Summary of Responsibilities
• Research funding sources for telecommunications and related technologies, including funding resulting from the February 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,
• Prepare summaries of relevant funding requirements and programs,
• Work with our in-house counsel and our customers to inform and assist customers that qualify for funding,
• Monitor the status of submitted funding applications.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or higher,
• Extensive research experience, preferably with experience in identifying federal funding sources,
• Experience in or the ability to quickly assimilate basic networking and telecommunications technology,
• A demonstrated record of personal responsibility and initiative,
• A commitment to helping ensure that available federal funding is received by qualified local governments, schools, health care providers and others.
Compensation
• A variable percentage of each successful funding request that you have a significant role in helping the company or the customer to apply for and obtain. (Please note that funding requests are expected to be between $50,000 and several millions dollars.)
• An immediate bonus of $100 to $500 for each new, viable funding source identified through your research, depending on the amount and availability of funding and the diligence and creativity that you demonstrate in identifying the funding source. (Viable funding sources are those funding sources for which our current or prospective U.S. customers are likely to qualify.)
Persons who may be well-suited for this position include: recent law school graduates, law students, or those whose college studies required extensive research and writing.
