We are seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience editing/proofreading materials for online and/or print publications. The ideal candidate will have an eye for the smallest detail and extensive knowledge of the mechanics of grammar. Those who are self-motivated and can work independently for long periods of time are strongly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with legal proceedings and terminology is preferred, as is more than a basic understanding of Microsoft Word.
You will be responsible for reviewing summaries of deposition transcripts to verify that all pertinent facts have been included and represented accurately. Further, you must identify and correct all formatting, grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling errors.
We are a deposition summary service whose clients are law firms across the country, both large and small.
Please note that the workload will vary greatly, so we may have 30 hours of work for you one week and then nothing for five months. Extreme flexibility regarding working hours is necessary.
The pay rate for this position is $18 per hour.
