LearnStar, Inc., the developer and publisher of the A+ ClassroomTM Student Response Software for K-12 schools across the U. S. has an immediate opportunity for an Assistant Content and Curriculum Editor.
LearnStar maintains a question item bank of 30,000+ question items addressing the four core topics of math, language arts, social studies and science as well as fundamental life skill topics and English Language Learner topics for the K-12 students. These questions are presented to students through the A+ Classroom software in an engaging, competitive format.
This position will report to and work directly for the Director of Content and Research. Responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing and updating existing items to maintain contemporary status.
• Modify existing content to enhance presentation, impact and instructional effect.
• Researching and assisting in the development of new topic items.
• Correlating and aligning new and existing items to State Standards and Expectations.
Interested candidates should exhibit a high level of energy and self-initiative, self-discipline, organization and have a high degree of confidence using computer based authoring tools (both proprietary and Windows based). Research, logical reasoning and creativity are important attributes and experience in the K-12 educational industry (private or public) a strong plus.
Compensation and benefits include competitive health insurance, flexible personal time, and a casual work environment. Salary for this position will range in the mid $30,000 annually, depending on candidate abilities and experience.
