Proposal Writer/Coordinator
Project Description
Mid-size information technology and management consulting firm seeks technical proposal writer/coordinator to develop responses to requests for information, proposals and services for public and private sector management and technology needs. The proposal writer/coordinator will be responsible for:
- Mining proposal opportunities from websites and other notification contacts
- Providing initial assessment of proposal opportunity to company and coordinate review meeting with 3-5 days of solicitation announcement for "go/no go" decision
- Identify partnering opportunities for proposals in which firm does not have expertise and recommend, as appropriate, partners
- Develop proposal project timeline and assignments for technical solution development/validation, pricing validation, and production of proposal hardcopy and softcopy for timely delivery to soliciting entity
- Catalog critical components of proposal in proposal database
- Archive final proposal in proposal database
- Responsible for reviewing, archiving, cataloging and organization of old proposals
- Develop proposal for database structure and work with technical staff to develop proposal database
- Recommend maintenance and upkeep of database
Position Requirements
- BS/BA in computer science, information technology, information systems, or related field
- Intermediate use of MS Project, Visio, SnagIt or equivalent screen capture application, Adobe Photoshop or equivalent graphics editing application
- Advanced use of PowerPoint, MS Word, email, calendar
- Ability to work variable hours: high intensity 60-70 hours weeks when multiple proposals are due in same timeframe; low/no hours in weeks where no proposal activity is required
- Experience with public-sector procurement processes a plus
- Intermediate database design/development skills (advanced preferred)
- MS Access or MS SQLServer
- Flexibility to travel to required vendor conference meetings (rare)
