We have a rapidly maturing web application and need a front end developer who can take us to the next level of usability and polish. Candidates should have a keen eye for (and experience with) design, web app usability, and information architecture, as well as the desire to take ownership of front-end development. You will be a key member of the team in a leadership role.
We're looking for someone with 5+ years experience, who excels at:
* Web application UI design and development using CSS/XHTML, plus experience working with JavaScript.
* Working independently and accountably as an independent contractor (accurate time estimates, tracking, and reporting).
* Communicating with and managing the demands of a diverse group of developers, marketers, managers, partners, and users.
* Being a consistent and productive self-starter.
Familiarity with PHP/CAKE a plus. (Experience in online learning, LMS/VLEs a double plus.)
You must be available for a minimum of 4 hours per weekday starting Sept 15, 2008 - this is a 6 month contract.
You will work remotely, but must be in North America or the UK.
