Get paid $15 to $25/hr to be our SEO consultant (Maryland)

We are a marketing firm in Washington, DC. We specialize in graphic design, and web development. We are adding an SEO department to our business, and we need an SEO advisor to create a detailed action plan for our in-house team of online marketing professionals.

We are seeking a bright, ambitious, and results-focused Search Marketing Specialist to join our team and play a key role in our ongoing success. This person will plan internet marketing strategies for our team. Specific areas of expertise will include Pay-Per-Click marketing, Search Engine Optimization, and Web Analytics.

You will help us create a complete plan by which we will get our sites to the top 3 rankings of our chosen search engines for each category: organic, local, and PPC.

This plan must include EXACT directions on all the steps we need to take in order to achieve our goals, as well as time-projections on work to be done, so we can divide the work equally amongst our staff. We also need a time projection on the results we can expect, and we need to have the tools to gauge keyword density and the progress of our rankings on a regular basis.

You will help our team:
• Create a strategy for on-page and off-page optimization.
• Manage and create paid search campaigns in Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines
• Create and maintain keyword lists for paid search campaigns
• Write and test ad copy for search campaigns
• Analyze results on a daily basis for campaign successes using appropriate metrics (cost per click, cost per conversion, impressions, click thru rate, conversion rate, etc.)
• Manage interactive media budget to ensure lead flow goals are met
• Monitor and react to competitor activity on the web
• Set up and utilize reporting systems to track key metrics, forecast tracking, and results optimization
• Perform A/B testing for landing pages, ad copy, keywords, day parts, positioning, and other variables
• Design and code web pages, particularly landing pages for lead generation
• Manage email marketing campaigns
• Improve search engine rankings developing SEO strategies, including execution of strategic linking
• Work closely with the web designers to develop web pages, landing pages, etc.
• Split test ad copy, websites, and advertising campaigns.
• Research & implement advertising campaigns throughout various advertising networks.
• Develop, implement and monitor SEO/PPC program with regard to keyword ranking, indexed pages, backlinks, adwords, etc.
• Research, introduce, and develop new marketing and advertising venues and opportunities, and track the results of these programs.
• Track and analyze all website traffic for ROI.
• Conduct internet research and develop content on various topics for client projects.
• Assist in developing, monitoring and refining a plethora of marketing campaigns.
• Suggest, implement and test refinements to existing client websites and advertising campaigns.
• Conduct market research and analysis online.
• Other duties & projects as assigned.

Job summary:
You will plan paid search engine campaigns using Google AdWords and other PPC-based tools.

Create a solid plan for us by which we will conduct SEO analysis and keyword research and deliver recommendations to clients to ensure top natural search positions.

Create a plan for using web analytics reports (using Google Analytics) and provide insights to clients, as well as recommendations to the web team, to improve the performance of web solutions.

You will need the following basic skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Basic HTML skills.
• Interest in or experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
• Interest in or experience with PPC tools such as Google AdWords, Yahoo! Sponsored Search and Microsoft adCenter.
• Qualities must include attention to detail, strong verbal and written communications skills, strong analytics skills, and ability to translate analysis of data into meaningful recommendations and online strategies.
• Proven ability to work on many tasks & projects at one time and still hit firm deadlines.
• Must be VERY internet and technology savvy
• Ability to think outside the box and come up with solutions when most others have given up
• Excellent ability to conduct internet research and analyze data
• Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and marketing (SEM), Social Web 2.0 tactics, and website analytics
• Excellent at handling multiple tasks at once without getting side tracked
• Very Strong attention to detail (If you are not detail oriented, this is not the job for you)
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to take on new projects and tasks with little to no input
• Ability to set up and learn new marketing software and teach others
• Experience using Social Networking Sites (Web 2.0)
• Experience using and/or managing affiliate programs
• Internet advertising sales is a huge plus
