The Company
We are three media professionals located in the Brooklyn area who are partnering to launch a startup. Our aim is to develop a New York events-based social networking calendar utilizing best practices in Web design. We all maintain employment at major media and publishing brands, and collaborate in our spare time on this enterprise.
The Role
We are looking for an individual who can bridge the gap between design and back-end development. The primary task of the front-end development intern would consist of building Web page templates utilizing HTML/CSS/Javascript from raw image files. Our preference is someone who has an expert knowledge of Javascript and has experimented with developing Web content for the iPhone.
Qualifications:
-Ability to effectively work remotely
-Ability to meet reasonable deadlines without delay
-Experienced developing Web Page templates from Raw Image files REQUIRED
-Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript and Adobe Illustrator REQUIRED
-Knowledge of PHP and Rails preferred
-Knowledge of iPhone Web development celebrated!
-Organized and detail-oriented
-Knowledge of the New York music scene a plus
Compensation and Start Date
We are interested in someone who can start immediately and who will be flexible in working 1 to 2 days a week at $12 an hour, and potentially earning course credit. We expect the work to last through the spring semester, but there may be interruptions at times depending on our needs.
