Seeking Reliable Web Developer

Small design firm seeks to subcontract a reliable web designer with a variety of skills. Our clients' requirements range from small, 10-15 page sites, to medium-sized sites with content management systems developed in WordPress, and occasionally sites with features like shopping carts and secure login areas.

The selected firm must be able to demonstrate a track record of creating clean, professional and functional sites, as well as the ability to respond to communications in a timely manner. Our needs currently range from 10-15 sites per year.

For our part, we are an established firm which treats our subcontractors with respect. We pay immediately when a project is completed via PayPal.

- A list of links to web sites which you or your firm have developed.

Editing of 50 page Market Research Report

We are a market research company. We publish reports. We have written a 50 page report (in a 'enumerating' style). That report needs to be edited before we publish it. That is where we need help.

We are looking for somebody who can edit what we have written so that it can be published. By editing we mean convert the dry, 'enumerating' style we have used into a sober, business-like, yet engaging style (comparable to the style of the Wall Street Journal or the economic and business section of the New York Times). What we do not need is a sensational tone or the Newsweek/Business Week style with off-standard words or slang. We do not need either is a style full of buzz words and superlatives. We are not writing a novel or a film script. We are writing a professional report. You probably get what we look for by now

Quick short turn around needed. If you have only two spare hours a day, this is not meant for you.We are looking for somebody who has at least 3 or 4 hours per day to work on this and/or can work on weekends on this.

You need to have experience editing professional publications (like market research reports, conference transcripts, b2b documents, product brochures). We are not looking for people who edited for popular press or adapted for movies or television. Ideally you have experience with the editing of market research reports (for Veronis Suhler Stevenson, Kagan, Frost&Sullivan, Datamonitor, Forrester, Freedonia).

McCormick Theological Seminary (http://www.mccormick.edu) is seeking a web design and development firm to design and rebuild our institution’s web presence.

We have recognized the need to rebuild our web presence from the bottom up taking into account all facets of seminary work and community. We are seeking someone who will be able to help walk us through the structural and aesthetic considerations of our internet communication strategy and turn that into a creative and effective reflection of McCormick’s mission, vision and values. Cultural sensitivity and communication of McCormick’s identity through design are key.

The successful candidate will have experience working with foundational web 2.0 languages (XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, Java, etc.) and will be able to integrate existing services (Google Apps APIs, flickr, Moodle, and Raiser's Edge, etc.) with the new site for internal and external customers as appropriate, as well as developing new service portals to meet identified needs.
