Lead Ruby Developer, !Web2.0 at Philanthropic Impulse

You want to have a meaningful impact at a company that’s making the world a better place, rather than build another Facebook app or widget. The phrase "web 2.0" makes you shudder. You love writing Ruby using Rails or Merb, because it lets you make customers happy. You like to build a core set of features for v1 and then iterate based on customer feedback and data. You’ve built and launched at least one production Ruby site, and many more in other languages. Open source contributions and sharing your knowledge on a blog or at a conference are all big plusses. You appreciate and write tests. You are comfortable with mysql (js / scriptaculous / prototype is a bonus). You like working with a small, talented team, and want to have an opportunity to have a huge impact on how the product and team grow from day one. We’ve got deep domain knowledge in the charitable giving space and are thinking differently about solving a real problem for real customers in a big market ($300B is gifted annually in the US). We’re Vancouver-based and angel funded, so if you’re looking to work on a world-changing for-profit idea in one of the most livable cities in the world (or from your city), drop us a line: callings at p-imp.com.
